10 Seconds To Happiness

Hack Your Way to Happy!

 What if I told you that there was a very simple, easy and effective exercise that anyone can do any time, anywhere that will instantly boost your mood and make you feel happier?

What if I told you that this exercise requires absolutely no effort and less than ten seconds of your time? 

Would you want to know what it is?

I call it the Happiness Hack

I first learned about it while reading an incredible book (one I think every home should have on their coffee table) called Tools Of Titans – The tactics, routines, and habits of billionaires, icons and world – class performers  by Tim Ferris. 

I have slowly been making my way through this ginormous reference guide (you will know what I mean when you see it!!) for a while now and when I came across this happiness hack I started practicing it for myself immediately.  

Now, I consider myself to naturally be a pretty happy person in general but when I tried this for the first time, holy moly it changed my world!

The best part about it, is that it requires no effort, no time (ten seconds max) and ANYONE can do it no matter what situation they are in, or where the find themselves!

Before I tell you what it is, I have to warn you that it is so simple that it can be underestimated. So don’t let its simplicity sway you. There is great power held there, trust me.

Ok, so here it is.. 

During your day, wherever you are, randomly identify two people within your current vicinity (if there is nobody preset you can just bring someone to mind). Then, all you have to do is secretly wish for them to be happy. 

Just think to yourself  “I wish for this person to be happy, and I wish for that person to be happy.” That’s it.  Do not do, or say anything to them. Just think it – this is purely a thinking exercise. It should last in total no longer than 10 seconds.

Neuroscience tells us that before there is a manifestation ie: an emotion, there is a thought. All possibilities exist first in thought form (energy), then emotion (energy in motion). So when you think about others being happy, that thought evokes happiness within YOU.

You can try this exercise for yourself right now!

I have been doing it every single day for about 5 days straight now. I set an alert in my phone to remind me at 10am every morning (irrelevant of where I am or what I am doing) to look around and mentally wish 2 people happiness.

I have to say this often turns into me naturally wishing everyone I see happiness including myself and friends and family that are not even there. But really, just pick two people every day – wish them well. Send them blessings. Nothing else. It should take just a few seconds.

It will immediately boost your overall feelings of joy and internal happiness. It did for me at least. 

This is the power of loving-kindness, my friends.
Being on the giving end of a kind thought is super rewarding in and of itself…All you have to do is randomly wish for someone else to be happy and watch as your own happiness expands.

Try it. I dare you. It’s free & could quite possibly change the world!

I mean… Imagine if we taught our kids to make this a daily, conscious habit, like as important as brushing our teeth! What a rad example to set for our future gens!!
